About the Doctors

Jill C. Jenkins, DDS

Jill Jenkins was born and raised in the Kansas City area. She attended St. Thomas Aquinas high school and the University of Missouri-Kansas City to earn her Bachelor of Arts and Doctorate of Dental Surgery degrees. During dental school she received the prestigious Dr. Iwersen award and participated in many pediatric dental outreach opportunities.

Dr. Jenkins and her husband, Brad, moved to western Kansas after graduation from dental school to practice general dentistry. They lived in Quinter, Kansas and had practices in both Quinter and WaKeeney, Kansas. Dr. Jenkins and her family moved back from western Kansas in 2003 to attend the UMKC post-graduate residency in pediatric dentistry at Children's Mercy Hospital, where she met Dr. LeBlanc.

Dr. Jenkins has always had a passion for treating children and does so with a mother’s touch. She has three children, her two daughters Emma and Madelyn, and the latest addition, a baby boy born October 2006. Dr. Jenkins greatly enjoys treating all children, especially children with special needs.

 

Michael A. LeBlanc, DDS

Michael LeBlanc, originally from El Paso, Texas, attended New Mexico State University before moving to Kansas City seven years ago to attend the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2003.

Dr. LeBlanc was very active in dental school, both academically and clinically. In 2003, he received the distinct Pierre Fauchard Award for clinical excellence and the prestigious Arthur Iwerson Award for excellence in pediatric dentistry. Dr. LeBlanc is Board Certified and is a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. He is also fluent in Spanish and has volunteered for various dental missions and outreach programs, including a dental mission to Venezuela.

Following graduation, Dr. LeBlanc completed a two-year pediatric dental residency at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, where he met Dr. Jenkins. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, and the Kansas Dental Association. Dr. LeBlanc is married to his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth, and they have a young daughter, Mia Elizabeth, and a young son, Aidan.

 

Ginelle Sakima Roberts, DDS, MS

After earning her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Graceland University Dr. Roberts attended the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) School of Dentistry where she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Dr. Roberts continued her education at UCSF, completing a specialty program in Pediatric Dentistry and earning a Master’s Degree in Orofacial Sciences. During this time she also finished a UCSF Global Health Scholar program and has served on several health mission teams to Honduras and Guatemala

Before joining Jenkins and LeBlanc, Dr. Roberts started and directed the pediatric dental program for the West Hawaii Community Health Center. She was active in her community through leading an oral health coalition for Hawaii, representing the Big Island of Hawaii for the Head Start Oral Health Initiative, teaching on faculty for Lutheran Medical Center’s Hawaii Pediatric Dental Residency program, and serving in the National Health Service Corps as a pediatric dentist.

Last year, Dr. Roberts and her husband, Doug, decided to trade their surfboards for snowblowers and they moved back to the Kansas City area, where Doug was born and raised. They have a 3 year-old son, Drew, and a daughter, Reese, who is 9 months old.
