Michael LeBlanc, DDS

Michael LeBlanc, originally from El Paso, Texas, received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Dentistry in 2003. Upon graduation, Dr. LeBlanc completed a two-year pediatric dental residency at Children’s Mercy Hospital.

Dr. LeBlanc was very active in dental school, both academically and clinically. In 2003 he received the distinct Pierre Fauchard Award for clinical excellence as well as the prestigious Arthur Iwerson Award for excellence in pediatric dentistry. Throughout his career, he has continued to be active in the dental community. He is board-certified, a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, former president of the local dental society, as well as a former chair of the New Dentist Committee. Currently, Dr. LeBlanc is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, a member of the American Dental Association, and a member of the Kansas Dental Association. He is fluent in Spanish and has volunteered for various dental missions in Venezuela and Mexico. Locally, he has participated in volunteer events for the Team Smile organization and the Kansas Special Olympics.

Dr. LeBlanc is married to his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth. Together they stay busy with their daughter Mia and son Aidan.

Emily Meyer, DDS portrait.

Emily Meyer, DDS

Dr. Emily Meyer, DDS, grew up in both Pennsylvania and Washington D.C. She earned her undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University before attending dental school in Baltimore at the University of Maryland. Dr. Meyer then completed her medical residency at NYU Langone Hospitals, earning the prestigious title of Chief Resident. She’s been a part of our dental family since 2018, when she joined us while her husband, Louis, worked on finishing his medical residency at the University of Missouri in Kansas City.

She said she loves being an integral part of our team and community because we create such a welcoming environment that is genuinely team-oriented where you feel like you’re with close friends. Dr. Meyer always treats everyone like family, putting what is best for you and your smile first above all else.

Dr. Meyer and Louis have been together for over a decade and were married in 2018. The couple enjoys traveling, visiting family, playing with their puppy Archie, golfing, doing Peloton, and hiking.

Stefanie Curtis, DMD

Dr. Stefanie Curtis grew up in a Northwest suburb of Chicago, Illinois. She attended University of Illinois Champaign Urbana and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology. She later pursed her Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree at University of Southern Illinois School of Dental Medicine. Following the completion of her DMD, she completed a two-year pediatric residency at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

Throughout Dr. Curtis’ career, she has actively participated in events and volunteer opportunities in her community as well as underserved countries. Her passion for treating and educating younger generations lead her to participate in global outreach programs in both Honduras and Jamaica. She looks forward to continuing her impact on the prevention of disease and creating lifelong habits of oral health care while in Kansas City.

Dr. Curtis believes her biggest strength in dentistry is listening to her patients and earning their trust to encourage a positive and fun experience in the dental office. As a member of the LeBlanc and Associates team, Dr. Curtis strives to make a beloved dental home for all. When Dr. Curtis isn’t caring for her patients, she is spending time with family and friends, traveling to new places, and spoiling her dog, Barnum.

Kyle Pedersen, DDS portrait.

Kyle Pedersen, DDS

Dr. Kyle Pedersen was born and raised in Elgin, Illinois. After receiving his dental degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, he went on to complete a two year pediatric dental residency program at the University of Texas Health Science Center- San Antonio. Dr. Pedersen is a board-certified pediatric dentist and an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

After completing his pediatric residency in 1994, Dr. Pedersen moved back to the Chicago area where he worked in private practice, got married and started a family. In 2015, Dr. Pedersen and his wife Maritsa, a family physician, began working for a non-profit organization and subsequently moved overseas with their four children. After studying Spanish for one year in Costa Rica, his family moved to the Dominican Republic where they lived for four years. During those years, they worked alongside community leaders and pastors, and supported various ministries focused on community development, medical and dental care.

Since moving to Kansas in August 2020, Dr. Pedersen has transitioned to becoming a Royals, Chiefs and Sporting KC fan. He and Maritsa also enjoy cheering on their children in various sporting activities. In his spare time, he enjoys running, tennis and improving his Spanish.

Dr. Pedersen is excited and thankful for the opportunity to be part of the team at LeBlanc and Associates.

Mary Le, DDS

Dr. Mary Le grew up in the Kansas City area until dental school. She then moved to California for postdoctoral residency. After 18 years of California, she and her husband decided to return to Kansas City to raise their family.

Dr. Mary Le has been a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry for over 15 years. She graduated from the six-year B.A./D.D.S program at UMKC in 2000. She attended the Pediatric Dental Residency program at University of California-San Francisco and was chosen Chief Resident in her last year. She graduated in 2003 with a both a clinical certificate in pediatric dentistry and a Master’s degree in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences. Her passion is in Minimally Invasive Pediatric Dentistry (ART treatment, Hall crowns). She has personal experience with high-needs children providing her with understanding for the parent and child.

Dr. Le is overjoyed to be working with LeBlanc & Associates team due to their mission to ensure every child has access and opportunity to excellent dental care.

Bryan Henrie, DDS portrait.

Bryan Henrie, DDS

Dr. Bryan Henrie grew up in Leawood, Kansas and Atlanta, Georgia. After 7 years of practicing as an attorney, an exciting career change took him to the University of Utah, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. Upon discovering his passion for helping children, he then completed a Pediatric Dental Residency at the University of Minnesota.

Fluent in Spanish and an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Henrie has participated in multiple international dental trips, including two trips to Mexico that he organized through his charitable organization. His favorite part of pediatric dentistry is connecting with his patients, and he believes that keeping kids healthy is the BEST job ever. As a member of the LeBlanc & Associates Team, he is looking forward to setting his patients up for a lifetime of dental success.

Dr. Henrie has been a dedicated Chiefs, Royals, and Jayhawks fan his whole life, which makes his return to the Kansas City area even more exciting. In his free time, he enjoys hiking and biking with his wife, Shantay, and their four children.

Brianne Kerns, DDS, MDS

Dr. Brianne Kerns grew up in southwest Missouri. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri – Columbia and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Dentistry. After graduation, Dr. Kerns completed a Masters of Dental Science in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis.

As a dental student, Dr. Kerns was chosen for the prestigious Dr. John I. Haynes Merit Award in Pediatric Dentistry. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, the American Dental Association, and the Southwestern Society of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Kerns previously served on the national editorial board for Contour dental magazine and the American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research national student group.

Dr. Kerns met her husband, Geoff, in dental school, and they are both very excited to be returning to the Kansas City area. When they’re not seeing patients, they love spending time with their two cats, Hobbs and Felix, and their dog, Reid, traveling, and (of course) cheering on the Chiefs. Dr. Kerns is thrilled to join the LeBlanc & Associates family and to have the opportunity to create an inviting, caring dental home for all kids.

Sara Crow, DDS

Dr. Sara Crow grew up in Southeast Missouri. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri – Columbia and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Dentistry. Upon discovering her love for working with children, she completed a two-year Pediatric Dental Residency program at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit where she was chosen to serve as Chief Resident. Dr. Crow is a board-eligible pediatric dentist and a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, and Kansas Dental Association.

Dr. Crow is passionate about excellent patient care and cultivating a positive and fun dental experience for everyone. She often volunteers for community outreach programs, such as Team Smile, and has participated in dental mission trips in Mexico and Zambia. Dr. Crow is excited to bring her experience and knowledge with Pediatric Dentistry to the Leblanc and Associates team! When Dr. Crow isn’t caring for her patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Aaron, their two daughters, and their mini poodle.
